“Mosiac,” a career and college fair for first-generation high school students, will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 10, starting in the Pinckney Center for the Arts on the Central Oregon Community College Bend campus. The fair, including lunch, is free.
The purpose of the event is to promote higher education and employment opportunities for junior and senior high school students who are the first in their families to attend college. Students can explore college life by attending workshops highlighting various academic majors and careers as well as tour the campus. There will also be information about financial aid, choosing a college and later a major and how to be successful in college. Also, students can enter to win one of two $250 scholarships.
COCC and OSU-Cascades Campus are sponsoring the event. For information, call 383-7500 or visit www.cocc.edu/mosaic.
